Spoon Carving Workshop

This 1 day course will help you unwind around the camp fire whilst you learn to carve your own spoon.

Whittling a spoon is an age old tradition playing an important part of many cultures.

Relax whilst the Forest Knights Instructor team guide you through carving your own spoons.  Let the cares of the world pass you by as you enjoy this timeless activity.  During the spoon carving day you will learn to use an axe and knife safely and effectively.  Once you have mastered simple spoons you will have all the skills necessary to go to tackle more ambitious projects.

All equipment and insurance will be provided.

By the end of the course you will:

• Be able to identify suitable carving woods;
• Know a little about the history of spoon carving;
• Be able to select and maintain equipment suitable for spoon carving.  Axe, Knife and Crook Knife.
• Safely use a variety of cutting techniques to create your own spoon.
